I played Royal Ontario today on an amazingly beautiful September afternoon. Despite a 1 hour frost delay, the marshals did a great job at trying to fit us in where they could and we were able to enjoy a good moving pace for a weekend round of golf. They also threw in some free range balls to keep us busy, because of the delay.
The course itself played quite challenging, with the need to accurately hit you ball off the tee. Some thinking was also involved as driver was not always the best choice of the tee. Shots into the green also required a far amount of precision, as trouble was looming all around the greens.
The green rolled extremely fast and pretty true. There never really seemed to be any guarantee of a two putt no matter where we were on the green. The only down fall of the greens, not necessarily Royal Ontario's fault, were the number of divots on the green. On hole 18, I repaired 12 divots before lining up my putt.
At the turn service was quick and the food was good, perhaps a little too overpriced.
I will defiantly return to Royal Ontario, hopefully when I am hitting the ball a lot straighter.
