This course is a hidden gem in my opinion. I miss the days of walking and this course you can actually walk! The first 2 holes are a benign par 4 and a par 5. You can easily start -2 after those holes. The 3rd hole is where it starts to show some teeth. The course is full of 40-60 tall trees that boarder most fairways. The 3rd and 4th holes are narrow, long par 4s. If you want to really experience a good course, play from the back tees. The 5th is a 200 yard par 3. The 6th is a sharp dogleg left par 5 that makes me wish I could draw the ball on command. The 7th is a dogleg left medium to long par 4. The 8th is a 180 yard par 3. The 9th is a long par 4 with trees on both side. The back nine is just like the front nine in terms of challenge.
People can say what they want about this course - but while it isn't as narrow as some of the private courses in the area, it is much more narrow than courses like Raspberry Falls. Even though it is a muni - you still need to hit the shots to score on this course.
I for 1 highly recommend it.
