Heritage has never been an easy course to play. It's a difficult walking course with some holes very spread out. It can also be really wet after small amount of rain. All that said, I live 5 min from the course so it's hard to not play there on occasion. I've played it twice in the last 3 weeks and they are making good improvements to the fairways and overall condition-they've cleared out some woodsy areas and it looks better. Greens are fast.
The pros: $16 twilight fee after 2 pm. Not generally as busy as other area courses. Interesting and challenging holes. Wooded scenery, not houses.
The cons: long walks between holes, strange backups- often on back nine, #11. Weekend primetime cost is overpriced- around $45 is too much for this course.
