Played here for the first time at the LMG 2-man scramble on 4/27. Great time. For anyone who's never played in one of the 2-man scramble, check them out you won't be disappointed. The dinner served was excellent and everything ran smoothly.
I loved the layout and the final 3 holes are one heck of a finishing stretch to say the least. Somehow my brother and I both hit the #16 green off the tee into a very stiff wind, just the wrong end of the green. The wrong end of the green here definitely can add up to a 3 putt quickly - we know it now.
I thought the greens were a bit bumpy and slower compared to what I had expected. However, it was spring golf. I will definitely have to play again this summer to see how the greens are during the summer.
This is one of those courses that you will score on better after playing it a couple of times. It would help if someone in your group has played here before. There are greens that can play very different, depending on pin placement.
The fairways were in pretty good shape for the end of April. I look forward to seeing the course in top shape during the summer.
My one complaint was as we got to the our fourth teeing area, the ranger who asked us to speed up our play because the group ahead of us was just getting onto the green (par 4). I understand slow play, but the group behind us was nowhere to be seen. We started on a par 5 and the group ahead started on a short par 4, so they should be slightly in front of us after only a couple of holes.
Overall, a very good course that I would recommend to others.
