This is basically my "home" course... in that I am from Albany and my father, brother, and sometimes bro-in-laws will play this course when we get together. The staff is fantastic. Roy is a superb manager. The course is laid out well. Lots of fun holes. Plenty of challenges also. The very first hole offers a nice risk/reward to the right of the pond on the left. If you make the small, narrow bit of approach, you have a nice steep pitch up to the hilltop green. The rest of the course has similarly well-planned challenges. It is a municipal course, though not often too crowded. You may run into a bit of slow play on the weekends. The greens are in very fair condition, and they roll true. It isn't one the lavishly appointed NICER course out there. But it is really fun! The clubhouse is refurbished. You can see some old history in the entire place from 1 - 19... And it feels like... "home"!
